13.58a This snow baby Santa has trained polar bears to pull his sleigh coach. He doesn't seem to even have reins! Stuffed animals peer through the coach windows. 1.62" $300 Reduced to $225

Pic 7.38 A pair of very large signed Schneider pieces, 8.0" tall. I am always surprised that pieces this large and fragile have survived nearly 100 years. I posted close-ups of the faces, because they are so beautifully molded and painted. Notice also the detailed ribbing that shows up particularly well on the girl's sweater. This pair was likely used to decorate either end on someone's parlour mantel, possibly holding holiday greens.
When I was getting ready to post pictures of these pieces, I noticed some flaws and repairs to the piece with the boy. Someone has painted firing flaws on the lower right of the base. The boy's right hand has been either broken off and reglued or remade. The paint makes it impossible to say which. His other hand has been repainted as well (Was it broken?) And the tip of his right ski has been repaired in some way.
The owner of the pair had not noticed the damage -- I think we come to love our pieces so much that we don't always see the flaws. Due to the damage, the owner is offering the boy as a bonus to whomever buys the girl. I can email close-ups of the damage to anyone interested. Her price is $450, and so the price of the pair is $450. SOLD

Pic 12.22a Even by snow baby standards this Deco skiing woman is very small. She stands just 1.75" from the bottom of the base to the tip of her skis. Because she is also slender, she looks even smaller. $45.
13.47b This Santa and sleigh were molded separately then put together for firing. More often you may see the reindeer and sleigh without the inserted Santa. That would have simplified the manufacture. $100 Reduced to $75 SOLD
Pic 10.190b A snow dome insert made in Japan probably in the 1930s. This boy takes his dog for a walk in the snow. Seems pretty appropriate for a snow dome. Neither the boy nor the dog looks very enthusiastic about this walk. 2.62" $35
13.19 Santa sits slightly sideways on a silver plane. I've seen very few examples of this piece. 1.5" $265 Reduced to $198.75
