| Pic 8.14 b, The exact piece shown in my book. This boy is dressed for winter and his clothing and the ground are snowy. This could also serve as an elegant Valentine as well as a Christmas present. The two slightly different examples of this piece shown in my book are the only examples I have ever seen. Notice the ladybug, a symbol of good luck, on the sign board behind the boy. The sign post was made to serve as a very slender vase. 5.5" $750 | |||||||||||||||||||||

Rare snow baby boy on mound. The flowers in the pot he carries seems to be original, which would make him rarer still. Pic 8.17a in my book shows another example of this boy -- minus the flowers. This example is in outstanding condition with no chips or cracks. The face and curls are beautifully painted. The base of this figure is very like -- possibly identical to -- the pair carrying metal sleds and shown in Pic 8.31. It's likely they were all produced by the same factory. 4" $900 |

| 14.2 It took me 25 years of collecting before I was able to find this piece for sale, then when it did become available, it was with a duplicate! So I have one example to keep, and one to sell. Both are slightly damaged. One gnome on each piece has lost the tip end of his hat. Both examples look to have been partially washed. Even the faces are missing some paint. But would I ever find it again? I wasn't taking any chances. Two gnomes, drunk on fly agaric, trip the light fantastic on the very same mushroom. 2.5" $240 | |||||||||||||||||||||

| 14.64c If you love a bargain, this may be the piece for you. This gnome reminds me of a play I saw recently where the elderly waiter had great difficulty serving meals. This is one of the few long-nosed and very long-footed gnomes I've seen. You can see that this piece has been used and washed, probably repeatedly. I think someone enjoyed displaying him on a cake.
