Pic 2.8, the exact piece shown in my book. Three children carrying school sachels and wearing snowed clothes rush between school and home. They hurry along, the larger boy grasping the small girl's wrist, and she clutches the coat tail of the smaller boy. The piece tells its own story. The faces are wonderfully expresive and the detailed molding is superb. See the boy's slate in his worn leather pack, for example. The back of this piece is as elaborate as the front. It is a snapshot of earlier times. The only damage I see is that the end of the girl's front braid is missing. The back braid, which is usually missing, is intact on this example. This piece is a HUGE 6". Very rare in such excellent condition! $940.

Pic 2.30b This Galluba girl in her gorgeous long coat carries an object that has puzzled me for as long as I've had her. Is it an umbrella, or could it be a dulcimer? There is no doubt she is in her fur-trimmed coat and flower- and ribbon-trimmed bonnet for some special occasion. Because this is an early piece (before 1913), the paint has been fired on, and is therefore in beautiful condition. The shading on the cheeks shows this off very well. 3.75" $275
Here's your chance to own a Heubach snowed piece at a great price. This is a variation of Pic 7.19a. He is generally referred to as a "whistler" -- shown here with his hands in his pockets. The boy has the customary Heubach trim colors, but his strawberry blond hair is unusual. The glaze over the snow makes these pieces easier to keep clean. 6" $600.
Pic3.10b A lovely large pink snow girl with beautiful painted details. Her coat is a pale aqua and inside the brim of her hat is pink. Ermine details are painted on her muff. She is large enough to be the center of a display with greens, on your table or mantle piece. Of course she could also be used in a grouping.I have not seen any snow babies in this catagory which are larger. Most are smaller. 5" $245
