Pic 5.3 If you own my book you know about these rare early snow babies. They are older than most other snow babies and required more hand work than later pieces, and they are much in demand. They were made prior to WWI, long before the more common pieces, and consequently fewer have survived. This type is in part characterized by their chubby cheeks. This one lies on his arms and is slightly less than 2" high. Despite his small size, he has a big impact on a display because of his unusual style and beautiful face. $325

Member of a gnome oompah band not pictured in my book. I'm lucky to have a duplicate of this musician to share. I do not yet own the entire band, but I'm searching! $33. PENDING
12.3 A peddler or possibly a gypsy and his wagon. I have only seen two or three examples, and I do not believe that all the black paint is original. It is a difficult piece to find and this is the only one I've found for sale. 1.75" $45 15.8b This is not the same as 15.8. It is the same pose made by a diffferent manufacturer. It is not a repainted piece. The paint is original. 2.25" $75

5.29 I bought this early piece without its bisque sled which may have broken or come loose from the girl. On the other hand, it may never have been on a sled. This is a beautiful example, and the wooden sled (new German) will accompany her. Very few snow babies show curls under their hoods, and very few have this visor-type hood. We call her 'snow babe' because of her curves. She is the size a four-inch snow baby would be standing. She was pictured in a December 1912 Ladies Home Journal as a table decoration. She could be yours! For many years I thought I would never own this piece. $320

2012_sb_web007007.jpg 13.67b Apprehensive Santa pulls a large two-wheeled cart nearly overflowing with toys. Because this piece is "cold painted" the gold on the wheels would not have required an extra step. Paint is in outstanding condition! 1.75" $260 13.78 Another apprehensive Santa searches his large sack. Did he forget something? A little paint missing, but this is a difficult piece to find. 1.87" $185

3.8b I've never been certain what this boy holds on his lap, but I'm inclined to feel it is intended to hold flowers. Any other ideas? He wears short pants and a collar decorated with cut work.At nearly 5" his example is, I beleive, the largest size made and much larger than the one in my book. Let me remind you that the 'blue snow' on this piece is not "blue snow" -- the very desirable finish on some Galluba pieces. This is white snow that was painted blue and then fired. Quite a different process. This piece has been broken and repaired. It was the nose that suffered. Look closely. 4.87" $26
